Following a six-month redesign, the Belmond La Résidence d’Angkor in Cambodia has reopened as an all-suite hotel nestled in the jungles of Siem Reap. Inspired by the Khmer era, the 59-room property’s refurbished interiors come courtesy of London’s GA Design and Cambodia’s Beyond Design.
The revamped spaces feature handwoven jewel-toned silks, traditionally crafted hardwood furnishings, and ironmongery sourced from local artisans. A curated art collection reconnects guests with both ancient and modern Cambodian culture, while the hotel’s new library offers a selection of literature to complement the installations. Suites have also been outfitted with private terraces.
Maximizing new outdoor space, the Belmond La Résidence d’Angkor’s fine dining restaurant has returned as Spice Circle, offering traditional Cambodian and Khmer fare alongside pop-up tuk tuk food displays. A casual pizza venue and show kitchen is available poolside, and the Martini Lounge is an indoor-outdoor cocktail and tapas bar.
