The Camby in Phoenix has been reimagined by Los Angeles-based design firm Beleco.
The hotel, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, has been transformed it into a serene retreat that balances classical bon vivant style with a contemporary softness inspired by the desert.
Bringing the desert inside
To evoke a sense of calm, Beleco employed a neutral color palette throughout the redesigned property. Public areas, for instance, are enveloped in warm gray tones, while lighter sand colors define the guestrooms.
Fabrics echo the desert’s organic palette—rust tones reminiscent of rocky terrain, deep greens inspired by native flora, and soft pinks and yellows reflecting the fleeting beauty of desert blooms. Meanwhile, patterns found across carpets and pillows draw from traditional textile and basket weaving techniques to honor the area’s rich cultural heritage.
Artwork at the Camby
Artwork, curated by Los Angeles art advisory Artemis Advising, plays a central role in bringing the desert indoors.
Paintings of expansive landscapes, abstract rock formations, and handcrafted pieces inspired by the Arizona region’s iconic shapes and materials are thoughtfully integrated throughout the property.
