One of five properties under the Giardino Group, Atlantis by Giardino in Zurich has reopened following an extensive renovation by London-based the Gallery HBA.
Originally built in the late 1960s, the property is located near the city center at the foot of Üetliberg mountain.
The landmark hotel comprises three wings in a Y-shaped configuration. A spiral staircase on the transparent ground floor joins three upper levels that sit beneath an attic space.
While some of the hotel’s new furnishings are locally inspired, others reflect the style of its heyday, including two classically inspired armchairs that have been revived and now sit opposite the lobby’s carved reception desk.
Wood and marble elements throughout the entire property have been retained, while the 95 guestrooms boast dark parquet flooring, along with padded walls and stone-clad bathrooms.
Amenities include two restaurants, a pool, and a signature spa that spans more than 16,000 square feet.
