The Gettys Group has completed the redesign and rebranding of the Hotel Indigo into the Claridge House Chicago.
“Our interior design team was charged with transforming the hotel’s look and feel into an intimate and curated residential aesthetic in the Gold Coast neighborhood. Ideally situated within walking distance from some of the city’s best shopping and dining, Claridge House delivers a sophistication that is as inviting as it is refined,” says principal Ben Nicholas.
Comprising silk-wrapped rings, a custom chandelier illuminates the lobby upon arrival, while also amplifying a theme of “coming full circle.” Custom millwork anchors the lobby with an elevated linear fireplace crafted from marble and blond oak detailing. Public spaces are accented with artwork and artifacts evocative of a residential living room, including travel photos sourced from around the globe. The new restaurant and bar Juniper Spirits & Oysters is also designed to attract both locals and travelers alike. All 165 guestrooms reflect a pied-à-terre-inspired design, with images of London displayed in each room to honor the origins of the Claridge name.
“We crafted Claridge House as a relaxed, yet refined space based on the property’s tagline, ‘Our House, You’re Home.’ It was important to our team that the design felt like an extension of the Gold Coast neighborhood,” adds Ali Bacon, senior project designer with the Gettys Group. “The public areas exude a residential quality that encourages guests to congregate and relax, while the guestrooms provide the experience of a bedroom in a neighboring brownstone.”
