The Hotel Karlan San Diego—a DoubleTree by Hilton has wrapped its full rebrand and $12 million renovation. Set in the Carmel Highlands foothills 15 miles from the city, the resort-style property offers 174 guestrooms. The site-wide overhaul includes revamped guestrooms, a new F&B concept and gastropub, an updated spa and fitness center, and an enhanced pool with outdoor cabanas. The hotel has also introduced new accommodations for pets, which include a series of onsite areas for dogs to play as well as pet-friendly dining options.
Led by chef Josh Phillips, the elevated but casual eatery Asado Grill has opened alongside the new Black Horse Pub. Both venues reinforce the scenery and weather with newly outfitted patios clad with trellises and firepits.
Six distinct meeting spaces are included onsite, spanning more than 14,000 square feet. In addition to pre-function space and an event lawn, the Hotel Karlan houses a 4,000-square-foot ballroom complete with vaulted ceilings. The Spa at Hotel Karlan accommodates a full-length lap pool, tennis courts, a sauna, and steam, massage, and treatment rooms.
