The Mayson hotel has debuted along the River Liffey in the Dublin Docklands. Locally based architecture practice ODOS has crafted the 94-room boutique hotel across two landmark buildings first constructed in the 1800s. The property comprises a circa-1860 townhouse and public house as well as a cattle and timber warehouse built in 1870.
More than 300 pieces of locally sourced artwork populate the interiors to instill a sense of place. Velvet and floral textiles offset the warm woodwork and exposed brickwork, while hallways include carpeting adorned with geometric patterns that establish a modern kaleidoscope effect beneath industrial pendant lights. The original pub building houses amenities including the intimate Bottle Boy Pub, the Green Dolphin Barber, and seven townhouse-style suites. The former warehouse has been updated with a new, nine-story steel volume to further contrast old and new. The building is home to 87 guestrooms and suites as well as the fitness center, pool, sauna, and steam room. F&B options include DIME Coffee in the lobby and the outdoor Mayson Bar, which is set against a three-story living wall.
