The Setai Hotels will expand its global footprint with the launch of the Setai St. Maarten.
Announced in partnership with Toronto-based Altree Developments, the project—the brand’s first destination in the Caribbean—will transform the existing Vie L’Ven development in Indigo Bay into a 205-key luxury resort with private villas.
Construction is currently underway, with completion expected in 2028.
A coastal aesthetic
The property’s architecture and interiors are being realized by an international team led by Studio Munge and HKS.
The Setai St. Maarten, which is set to join the Leading Hotels of the World, will balance architectural sophistication with a strong connection to its coastal setting. Across the resort, spaces are designed to flow from indoors to out, reinforcing privacy and retreat while providing access to the sea and surrounding landscape.
The development will incorporate both hotel accommodations and branded residences, offering a range of one- to four-bedroom layouts that span between 620 and 2,000-plus square feet. Dual-key residence options will extend up to 6,000 square feet, supporting multigenerational stays and long-term ownership alongside traditional resort use.
As of January 2026, all 28 Pinel suites in the two-story Martin building have been sold.
Amenities at the Setai St. Maarten
Amenity highlights will comprise a beach club with private cabanas and dedicated butler service, three swimming pools (including an adults-only retreat), and a 30,000-square-foot spa.
Additional features will include tennis and pickleball courts, on-beach water sports facilities, a children’s playroom with childcare programming, and access to a protected nature reserve.
The culinary experience will span five restaurant options, including Ocean Grill Beach Club and Jaya, which both draw inspiration from the dining concepts at the Setai Miami Beach, while adapting to its Caribbean context.
