The Sinclair hotel in Fort Worth, Texas, recently opened as the newest addition to the Autograph Collection of Marriott International. Housed within the former Sinclair Oil Company, the refresh of the property has been spearheaded by New York-based Forrest Perkins, and locally based Merriman Anderson Architects.
Renovated to accentuate the structure’s signature Art Deco style, the hotel is home to a range of 164 loft-style rooms and suites, in addition to two luxurious two-story penthouses. Populated with intricate textures and patterns expressed through materials like leather, brass, wood, marble, ceramic, and glass, all accommodations feature custom Italian furniture, while the vibrant blue and brown tones of the hotel’s interiors are all revived to their original shine. In addition, the property will offer three F&B concepts—the Wicked Butcher, Lobby Bar, and 512 Rooftop—all slated to debut in January 2020.
The Sinclar also emerges as the world’s first battery-powered hotel with its replacement of traditional diesel generator and backup power source with LG ESS, a lithium-ion battery pack. Powering its own lights with the power over Ethernet (POE) technology is will to reduce the building’s energy consumption by 30 to 40 percent.
