St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International, has unveiled the St. Regis Cap Cana Resort in the Dominican Republic.
The St. Regis brand’s first property in the Caribbean nation, the resort features 200 guestrooms and 36 suites, and amenities like a 13-treatment-room spa, nine dining venues, exclusive beach access, four pools, a fitness center, meeting spaces, and St. Regis Butler Service.
A design rooted in place
Designed by Acebal Canney Arquitectos & Asociados and Toronto-based Chapi Design (sister company to Chapi Chapo Design, led by Tatiana Sheveleva), the property embodies a thoughtful connection to the island’s heritage. At the heart of its design is the faceless doll, a local symbol of inclusivity that weaves a visual language of unity throughout the property. Her colors echo the land, while her ornamental details celebrate the spirit of the Dominican people.
The dramatic lobby, named the “Meeting of All Palms,” anchors this narrative with a sculptural staircase and a cascading waterfall that evoke the island’s lush biodiversity. Curving forms and carefully curated materials immerse visitors in a sense of place from the moment they arrive.
The St. Regis Bar further interprets the faceless doll motif, marrying traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design through bold sculptural forms and regional materials.
Guestrooms unfold as private observatories, complete with open-concept baths detailed with custom tilework, carved statement tubs, and layered lighting that reflect the island’s layered cultural heritage. Architectural touches, like a horizon-line headboard, pay homage to the endless sea and sky.
Amenities at the St. Regis Cap Cana Resort
Dynamic textures and flowing lines—inspired by the rhythms of merengue, the Dominican Republic’s signature dance—energize the resort’s event spaces as places designed for celebration and movement.
The spa’s design mirrors the coastline’s natural ebb and flow through the balance of soft organic shapes and strong sculptural elements that create a restorative sanctuary.
Culinary venues include restaurant Nina from celebrity chef Diego Muñoz, an elegant Mediterranean-inspired eatery, a Latin tapas and cigar lounge, poolside grill, coffee shop, a tiki-inspired rooftop bar, and more. The venues also spotlight cultural influences, from indigenous Taino and African motifs in the Steakhouse to the sweeping curves and smoky ambiance of the Cigar Club.
“With St. Regis Cap Cana, we sculpted a soulful portrait of the Dominican Republic, drawing from its land, its people, and its pulse,” says Sheveleva. “It’s a place that breathes with meaning, and I’m deeply proud of what we’ve brought to life here.”
