Set against the backdrop of more than a quarter mile of pristine beachfront in Costa Rica’s Guanacaste region, the highly anticipated St. Regis Papagayo Resort is taking shape.
Developer Solana has appointed CHAPI Design to craft the property’s interiors, along with an international team of experts including Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos (architectural framework), Gensler (space planning and layouts), and Maat Handasa (landscape design).
An indoor-outdoor experience
The resort will comprise 120 guestrooms and suites, each positioned to capture sweeping ocean views while drawing the surrounding tropical environment indoors.
“CHAPI Design will bring its contemporary sensibility to the resort’s interiors, crafting spaces that balance complexity with a deep connection to place,” says CHAPI Design owner Tatiana Sheveleva. “Inspired by Costa Rica’s extraordinary natural beauty, our vision is to emphasize natural materials, layered textures, and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions.”
Amenities at the St. Regis Papagayo Resort
Guests will have access to a curated collection of signature amenities. This will include six distinct dining concepts like Casa Club, which will serve casual gourmet meals, and the Cliff, which will offer a menu that fuses Japanese and Costa Rican influences. Visitors can also enjoy an exclusive Beach Club & Grill, alongside the iconic St. Regis Bar & Speakeasy.
Beyond dining, the resort experience is elevated by the St. Regis Library, multiple infinity-edge pools, a nature-inspired spa, and more than 10,000 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.
Elevated branded residences
Plus, the property will introduce 143 private branded residences. Ranging from two to five bedrooms, these homes span approximately 2,050 to 6,400 square feet, with pricing starting at $3 million. Each residence offers expansive ocean views and interiors that merge modern elegance with the coastal terrain.
The pinnacle of the residential offerings is the 21,161-square-foot Astor Mansion. The $30 million estate boasts six bedrooms, a private pool, dedicated wine cellar, and gym.
Groundbreaking on the residences is expected to commence soon.
