Tbilisi, Georgia has welcomed the new Stamba Hotel to its Vera neighborhood within a city landmark, the Soviet printing headquarters. The hotel was designed by an in-house team at Adjara Group, the developer behind the project.
References to the 1930s permeate the interior, weaving the building’s history through the design. The cavernous lobby showcases upcycled printing technology suspended from the ceiling, while the five-story atrium is punctuated with trees and greenery. The lobby café is accented with vintage booths and Soviet-era pendant lamps. Part of the renovation includes a new glass-bottomed swimming pool on the hotel’s rooftop, which filters natural light into the space. The 20th-century inflected 42 guestrooms feature freestanding brass bathtubs and locally sourced artwork.
The hotel is set to expand its roomcount to 150 in the future.
