Hyatt Hotels has announced the debut of Thompson Hotels in Denver. Local architecture firm DLR Group will craft the 11-story property as a modern chalet, while New York-based Parts and Labor Design will oversee the cointeriors, in collaboration with Thompson Hotel’s in-house team.
The lobby of the new lodging concept will be home to an oversized fireplace that stretches downstairs. Large concrete columns wrapped in rough-hewn wood and metal accents will be installed in addition to a raw, brutalist staircase evocative of a rustic-urban ski lodge. A grab-and-go café and retail space will transition into a bar and lounge in the evening.
The 90-seat restaurant on the ground floor will be anchored around an interior bar illuminated by a custom, jewel box lighting fixture. Adorned with tones of green and brown, it will be complemented by dark woods, interior foliage, and a wall composed of rock and glass.
A warm and casual sophistication will characterize the 216 guestrooms via a natural palette of deep brown, dark green, and gray. Woven wool rugs will be installed atop terracotta tiled floors, while saddle leather headboards and woven sofas with handstitched graphic patterns will also perpetuate the rustic theme.
The expansive courtyard will be attached to the library and whiskey room, populated by a custom pool table and fireplace beneath woven rattan ceilings. Lined with tiled flooring, the interior will be clad with light cast concrete surfaces and wrapped in deep jewel tones.
