Thompson Hotels has announced the opening of the Thompson Nashville, its first property in the greater South as well as the city’s first new-build lifestyle hotel. Located in the downtown Gulch neighborhood, the 224-room property’s nostalgic yet progressive Southern charm was crafted by New York-based Parts and Labor Design.
Spanning 12 stories, the hotel features locally sourced artwork that complements custom light fixtures and furniture. Guests are greeted in the grand, canopied lobby by a large inlay of a wooden rose compass made from locally salvaged materials, including a brass detailing of the hotel’s coordinates. The lobby is also equipped with a vintage turntable, welcoming visitors to choose a favorite from the onsite vinyl collection.
A residential theme defines the guestrooms, which are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, warm wallpaper, wood floors, and custom rugs. Suites feature elegant wet bars and central hearths, and bathrooms are clad with graphic floor tiles offset by white tile walls. Clawfoot tubs are aligned with the expansive windows to amplify the luxurious setting.
The hotel’s F&B options comprise the signature Marsh House restaurant, coffee shop concept Killebrew, and rooftop bar L.A. Jackson, and more than 6,180 square feet of meeting and event space is housed on the hotel’s second floor, including three meeting rooms and a 1,219-square-foot outdoor terrace. Floor-to-ceiling windows further the design’s open nature, while flower-like chandeliers and wooden thresholds add warmth.
