On the heels of the brand’s debut in Dallas, Thompson Hotels has revealed plans to roll out the Thompson San Antonio in March 2021. Housed within the Arts Residences luxury mixed-use development, the forthcoming property will serve in redefining the city skyline.
Amass & G will spearhead the interior design of the 20-story hotel with a modern, sophisticated scheme featuring Texas-inspired touches. Upon arrival, a sculptural staircase accented with leather-wrapped handrails will serve as the centerpiece of the lobby. Dark flooring will be topped with abstract rugs, while the walls will be adorned with wood, black granite, and rusted corten steel panels forming a chevron pattern. A diverse furniture selection will also infuse a range of textures and colorways into the rustic environment.
In addition to a signature eatery and a rooftop restaurant and bar, a pool bar will anchor the fourth floor’s expansive pooldeck, which will be detailed with private luxury cabanas and lush greenery. A curated art collection will punctuate the property’s 10,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space that overlooks the scenic River Walk. The 5,000-square-foot full-service spa will be home to five treatment rooms, as well as relaxation areas, a sauna, steam room, and 24-hour fitness center.
Ranging from 350 to 2,400 square feet, the 162 accommodations—including 33 suites—will frame views of the skyline as well as the nearby Texas Hill Country. Custom sofas, bespoke casegoods, and sleek equestrian touches in the form of brown leather and buckle pillow back headboards will populate each chamber. Bathrooms will be lined with glass and stone and anchored by sculptural soaking tubs as well.
