Three Ducks, a new boutique hotel in Westhampton Beach on Long Island, New York, has officially opened.
Managed by FIRM Hospitality Group, the 12-room property is the inaugural project from designer-developers Randall Stone and Elizabeth Bakhash of Three Ducks Hospitality.
A quiet retreat at Three Ducks
Set on a 1.6-acre site, the hotel reimagines the former Westhampton Seabreeze Motel, a 70-year-old fixture of the community.
“We instantly recognized the potential here and jumped at the chance to create something truly special for visitors and locals alike,” says Stone.
Three Ducks unfolds across three zones—the Barn, the Guest House, and the Gardens—designed to foster moments of discovery and quiet connection. The Barn, a communal anchor for the property, houses a market, flower farmstand, and breakfast area, and can also be reserved for private events.
Inside the guestroom design
Guest accommodations span five room types, including a two-bedroom suite. Interiors emphasize natural textures and organic materials: ash wood floors, textured clay tiles, and pebble-like lighting fixtures are paired with a palette drawn from the surrounding landscape. “We were drawn to textures that evoke the feeling of wandering through a garden,” says Bakhash.
Vaulted ceilings, generous storage, and dual vanity layouts enhance functionality and flow, while built-in window benches and private garden access further blur the line between indoors and out.
Design details are enriched by layered storytelling. Each room features original artwork by Thiciana Cruz, whose abstract pieces evoke the horizon lines and colors of the area, along with one of 12 commissioned poems by Chris Vitiello that are inspired by the property’s namesake ducks and coastal surroundings.
“Our approach is about going deep into the details—every texture, every material, every corner is considered,” says Bakhash. “It’s those small, intentional choices that quietly shape the mood of a space and make it feel truly alive.”
