Tivoli Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to launch its first property in the Alentejo region of Portugal in the historic city of Évora. Slated to arrive in the third quarter of 2018, the Tivoli Évora Ecoresort will serve as an upscale nature retreat following its transformation from the Ecorkhotel, Évora – Suites & Spa.
Spread across more than 400,000 square feet, the hotel will be enveloped by cork oak and olive trees that will complement the sustainable nature of the contemporary property. Soft architectural lines will harmonize with the verdant landscape, while the central structure will be wrapped in locally sourced cork to ensure both thermal and acoustic insulation. Geothermal heating and solar panels will also be employed to heat the central building as well as its water and pools.
All 56 suites will be warmly furnished with natural elements including wool and cork, while outdoor spaces will be created to maximize the natural setting. A nine-room villa will also be constructed with its own private outdoor pool. In addition to an infinity pool bar on the first floor, the onsite restaurant and lobby bar will round out the F&B offerings. The onsite spa will host treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, and fitness center as well.
