The Puntacana Resort & Club in the Dominican Republic has revealed that Tortuga Bay at Puntacana Resort & Club will undergo a full renovation beginning this July. The only hotel project of late fashion designer Oscar de la Renta, the property will be refreshed by his widow Annette de la Renta in collaboration with designer Markham Roberts and Grupo Puntacana senior vice president of hospitality Haydée Kuret de Rainieri.
The overhaul will focus on the resort’s 13 villas, which will be updated with new technology and a renewed aesthetic. The onsite Bamboo Restaurant will also see added seating as well as a new kitchen and bakery. A new wine cellar will accommodate 600 bottles of wine. A humidor, renovated bar, and fitness center will debut along with a new lounge designed to host early arrivals and departures.
