Chicago’s Hotel Zachary has debuted as the latest entry into Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio. Located across from Wrigley Field in the heart of the Lakeview neighborhood, the 173-room hotel pays homage to renowned Wrigley Field architect and Chicagoan Zachary Taylor Davis through a stylish blend of classic and modern elements.
Locally based Studio K Creative led the design of the hotel’s public spaces including the formal entryway and the expansive second floor. Home to the lobby, Alma Room, and the Bar at Hotel Zachary, the second floor is appointed with furnishings, finishes, artwork, and amenities that evoke the spirit of the Windy City. A focal wall includes original sketches from Davis as well as custom artwork and family photos. Communal seating populates both the Alma Room and the bar, the latter of which functions as a central hub. Named after Davis’ wife Alma Conant Davis, the intimate Alma Room features an obscured handwritten love letter printed on canvas and electrified with hot pink neon words reading “Love Alma.” Additional F&B venues, including the West Town Bakery, Tap, and the bilevel cocktail bar and restaurant Mordecai, will arrive later this month.
Stantec Architecture crafted the guestrooms, including all 20 suites. Clad with floor-to-ceiling windows, rooms boast a warm color palette of rich blue, ivy-toned headboards, pinstriped carpeting, and custom armoires and traditional leather wing chairs. Wrigley suites feature a gentleman’s chest, bar, and private balcony, while signature Marquee suites offer a residential layout complete with separate dining and lounge areas.
