Two Roads Hospitality has revealed plans to add a new Destination Hotels location to its roster in Holmdel, New Jersey. Housed within the former Bell Labs research facility, the Bell Works Hotel is slated to open following the debut of a 40,000-square-feet executive conference center and ballroom this fall. Perkins Eastman and New York-based Alexander Gorlin Architects will oversee the hotel project.
Originally designed by Eero Saarinen, the two million-square-foot midcentury structure will be modernized by Somerset Development as part of revitalization efforts within the “Metroburb” community, which will include new retail and housing. Soon to break ground, 186 spacious guestrooms will be housed from the sixth floor upward, including entertainment suites. In addition to a signature restaurant, the hotel will feature a 13,000-square-foot rooftop bar, luxury spa, and game room. An original onsite auditorium will be restored to host 300 guests, while three refurbished atria will also punctuate the adaptive reuse project.
