Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, has designated the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel and the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers as Sheraton Grand properties.
The move marks the North American debut for the brand’s premier tier status, which recognizes properties for their destinations, design, and guest experience. Additional locations will be added within the next few months as part of the company’s Sheraton 2020 10-point plan. “We … look forward to announcing many more outstanding examples of our brand as we work toward the goal of having 100 Sheraton Grand properties by 2017,” says Dave Marr, global brand leader for Sheraton Hotels and Resorts.
Located in downtown Phoenix, the 31-floor Sheraton Grand Phoenix offers amenities such as an estimated 112,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor function space that includes a 27,000-square-foot ballroom, District American Kitchen and Wine Bar, the rooftop Breeze Bar, a fitness facility, and an outdoor lap pool.
The 1,218-room Sheraton Grand Chicago offers views of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. Amenities include five F&B outlets, a fitness center, a pool and sauna, and a 40,000-square-foot ballroom—the city’s largest in a hotel.
