The former Henderson Hat manufacturing facility in Sydney’s Surry Hills neighborhood is in the midst of a comprehensive transformation by locally based Tonkin Zulaikha Greer (TZG).
The six-story Edwardian historic warehouse is being overhauled into a 123-key hotel—to be dubbed the Hat Hotel—as part of efforts to revitalize the surrounding corridor. Expanding with two additional floors, the property will also be installed with a new cladded screen upon the most exposed face of its façade, while hosting a nearly 8,300 square feet of commercial and dining spaces inside.
