Virgin Hotel San Francisco, owned by Paradigm Hotels Group and operated by Virgin Hotels, has opened in the South of Market neighborhood. The 192-room urban retreat is the second from the lifestyle brand (the first opened in Chicago in 2015) with a collaborative effort from Gensler San Francisco, which designed hotel’s rooftop bar Everdene; Hager Design International, the interior designer of record; and Matthew Rolston, who spearheaded the hotel’s public spaces and Commons Club, where a 19th-century British feel meets a mix of San Francisco’s Victorian-era past and 1960s rock ’n’ roll appropriation of Victorian styling.
Along with two penthouse suites, guestrooms feature Virgin’s two-room concept. The Dressing Room, equipped with a full vanity and makeup desk and closet for two, is separated by a wooden door that leads to the lounge, which features the brand’s signature lounge bed among other amenities. The Chambers room boasts warm wood and soft textures that are offset with black accents and touches of the signature Virgin Red.
Opening early March, the hotel will also feature two additional dining options, the rooftop bar, Everdene, and the Funny Library Coffee Shop. Located on the 12th floor, the indoor-outdoor Everdene features three distinct spaces, including the Salon, home to a 25-foot-long wraparound bar; the Patio, an outdoor space featuring a large communal table where patrons lounge beneath a garden trellis; and the Secret Garden Lounge, an intimate VIP lounge only accessible via a signature Virgin-red garden gate crowned with foliage from the surrounding lattice.
A state-of-the-art fitness center and more than 7,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space round out Virgin Hotel San Francisco’s offerings.
