Virgin Hotels is set to grow its global footprint in 2022 with the launch of two properties in the United Kingdom and its maiden New York outpost. Virgin Hotels Edinburgh and Virgin Hotels Glasgow will both debut this spring, while Virgin Hotels New York is slated to open this summer.

We couldn’t be more thrilled to call the beloved cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow home to our first locations outside the United States,” says Virgin Hotels CEO James Bermingham. “And with our first New York City hotel following shortly after, Virgin Hotels is poised for a busy year of growth and elevation—and it’s only the start.”
The first of Virgin’s Scottish openings will be the Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, which will occupy the landmark India Buildings—first constructed in the Scottish capital’s Old Town 19th century. The site’s upgrade by Four-by-Two will balance historic elements alongside modern luxuries that capture the timeless character of the city with a uniformity of sophistication. The 222-room hotel will also include brand signatures like the Commons Club.
Designed by London-based Silk Property Group, Virgin Hotels Glasgow will anchor a culturally vibrant section of Clyde Street in the heart of the city. In addition to panoramic views of the River Clyde, the 240-room outpost will feature amenities like the Funny Library Coffee Shop.
Finally, the lifestyle brand will expand its reach stateside with the Virgin Hotels New York in the NoMad section of Manhattan. Spread across 28 floors, the 463-room new-build will be crafted by MARKZEFF to instill a sense of place that also honors the whimsical soul of the brand. Amenities will include a rooftop pool and bar, a slew of F&B spaces, and two floors of luxury retailers.
