Viva Wyndham Resorts is nearing completion of the first phase of an extensive upgrade to its Fortuna Beach resort, which will reopen on November 1st.
The property, located in Freeport on Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas, has undergone improvements and upgrades that touch nearly every area of the resort. Central to the enhancements is an upgrade of the property’s leisure activity infrastructure and its guestrooms. The Fortuna Beach pool area has been completely renovated with new tile, decking, and other amenity enhancements, and solar panels have been installed for the hot-water system.
The resort will open a new reservations-only restaurant called Viva La Pizza, which will serve pizza, pasta, and other Italian fare. The existing Italian restaurant has been reimagined as Viva Café, a stylish and relaxing dinner-only, à la carte
restaurant. Fortuna Beach’s snack bar has also been expanded and upgraded to offer a more open and relaxed feel.
The recreational lounge area and bar has been extensively revamped with flatscreen televisions and stylish billiard tables. Along with upgrades to the hotel gym and lobby, the common areas and walkways also have been improved with new paint, fixtures, and landscaping. Fortuna Beach’s disco and theater also received updates.
