Global firm VOA Associates has completed two new locations in downtown Chicago for Hyatt Hotels.
Located within walking distance of Millennium Park and various museums, the 257-key Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago opened this past summer, along with Hyatt Centric South Miami Beach, marking the company’s first two properties to debut within the Hyatt Centric concept—a locally inspired collection of cosmopolitan hotels.
While VOA provided architecture services, locally based Gary Lee Partners crafted the interiors of the contemporary Chicago hotel, which was repurposed from a 1920s high-rise with Art Deco elements. Its F&B program includes Aire—a 10,000-square-foot rooftop concept on the 24th floor—and French-style Cochon Volant Bakery, Brasserie and Bar.
Hyatt Place Chicago/Downtown The Loop, which also debuted this past summer, is an upscale select-service hotel with 206 guestrooms. The 18-story property offers three meeting rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, a 103-seat restaurant, an 1,800-square-foot fitness center, and an indoor pool.
