The W Atlanta-Buckhead will celebrate its ten-year anniversary this year with a makeover.
Slated for completion in late December 2018, the 12-story property is undergoing a comprehensive, $20 million renovation courtesy of locally based C+TC Studio and Dallas-based firm Studio 11. C+TC will oversee the revamp of the hotel’s accommodations and rooftop bar, while Studio 11 will execute a refresh of the lobby and other public spaces. A second phase of the renovation will kick off in 2019, with a focus on the onsite restaurant Cook Hall.
Inspired by the hotel’s Southern setting, the redesign will reflect the influence of regional fashion, design, and art. The functional overhaul will include a more flexible layout in the lobby that seamlessly transitions from day to night while also emphasizing comfort. The space will be updated with new furnishings as well as café-style seating, a custom mural, and the W phone booth. The property’s 11,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting and event space will be updated with new furnishings, paint, carpeting, lighting, and artwork, while breakout and pre- and post-function areas will also be enhanced. The fitness center will be artfully retouched as well.
All 286 guestrooms will be reimagined with new headboards, armoires, and artwork, while damask wallcoverings and carpeting will inject a new level of sophistication. Bathrooms will receive a new look with bold wallcoverings and new, upscale sliding glass doors for added privacy.
