W Hotels Worldwide has launched the W Bellevue in the Lincoln Square section of Bellevue, Washington. Mary Alice Palmer and Tom Sprinkle of HKS Inc. led the design of the property, which draws inspiration from the natural splendor of the setting and the innovation reflected in locally based brands like Microsoft and Amazon.
Spanning 220 guestrooms and 25 suites, the hotel features cabin-like architecture with thoughtfully reimagined traditional décor. A large reclaimed wood staircase punctuated by colorful street art from artist Gaia welcomes guests to the modern lodge. The Living Room is outfitted with exposed ceiling beams, while mirrors contour the interior edges of the room to create the illusion of an open ceiling, connecting with the modern, open-air porch. Deep sofas and lounge chairs are inspired by the 1970s and feature rustic plaid throws and plush pillows.
Accommodations are crafted with the communal history of the city in mind, with table lights that mimic traditional dock lamps and inflated tufted headboards that reference dockside décor. Pulp poetry is depicted upon pillowcases, while wine spilt carpets call to mind the region’s wineries. Glass showers are installed at the center of each room. The 2,300-square-foot, two-bedroom Extreme WOW suite is located on the 13th floor with a double-door entry, two king beds, an in-room pool, and poker table.
Vibrant décor and stylish finishes sit beneath deconstructed docks that float just below the ceiling of the 4,400-square-foot Great Room, which features a carpet of tribal tattoos complete with archetypal house shapes that reference native cultures of the Pacific Northwest. Both Strategy rooms and six Studios continue the theme of lakeside living with window-like mirrors and dock light sconces. F&B options include the modern farmhouse concept the Lakehouse and the speakeasy lounge Civility & Unrest.
