Waldorf Astoria has announced the launch of two new international properties that expand its footprint on the global luxury stage.
The Waldorf Astoria Bangkok arrives in the heart of the Thai capital as the brand’s first outpost in Southeast Asia. Spread across 60 stories, the new hotel affords access to major cultural attractions such as the Erawan Shrine. Designed by André Fu and his design studio AFSO, the aesthetic of the hotel’s 171 residential-style guestrooms is informed by both the property’s contemporary architecture and traditional Thai elements. Onsite meeting and event spaces include the 7,860-square-foot Magnolia Ballroom, while three restaurants, two bars, and a lounge are also featured. New York-based architecture and design practice AvroKO oversaw the design of the top three floors and as well the F&B outlets.
Following the conversion of the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, the brand also debuted the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas along Sin City’s iconic Strip. Home to 392 guestrooms and 225 residences, the hotel features more than 50 suites and three expansive presidential suites. Sleek, contemporary accommodation designs include floor-to-ceiling windows as well as valet closets. The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas also houses the aptly named eatery Twist, the first U.S. concept from Michelin Starred chef Pierre Gagnaire. The SkyBar on the 23rd floor showcases a variety of treasured décor and sophisticated ambiance, while the Tea Lounge overlooks the Strip as well. Additional amenities include the 27,000-square-foot Waldorf Astoria Spa, which spans two whole floors of the hotel, and the pool deck on the eighth floor, appointed with two pools, two whirlpools, and a plunge pool. Roughly 12,000 square feet of multifunctional event space has also been outfitted into the design.
