West Elm Hotels is continuing to expand with plans to launch an additional outpost in Portland, Maine in 2020. West Elm’s Portland hotel is the latest property to join its lineup of forthcoming locations in Detroit; Indianapolis; Minneapolis; Oakland, California; and Savannah, Georgia. Openings are slated to begin in 2019.
The 150-room boutique concept will be situated in the new neighborhood development Portland Foreside—formerly the Portland Company Complex. Overlooking the Portland waterfront known as Portland Landing, the hotel will feature an aesthetic inspired by the coastal city’s maritime history. The lobby will be outfitted with an indoor-outdoor bar and restaurant, while an outdoor pool will be set against the backdrop of the harbor. Retail spaces will be appointed beside the development.
