New York-based studio Jenny Wolf Interiors has completed a comprehensive renovation at the White Barn Inn, Auberge Resorts Collection in the coastal town of Kennebunk, Maine. The 27-room property retains the authenticity of its 150-year legacy through a refreshed, modern perspective. “It has been a joy to work alongside the Auberge family at White Barn Inn to bring a new point of view to the property and create a welcoming home-away-from-home for guests,” says Jenny Wolf, the design firm’s founder. “Playing with texture and contemporary finishes, the interiors have a fresh and lighter European feel, while retaining the traditional New England ambiance that guests and locals have come to love.”
The updated design scheme blends new with vintage and rough with polished in order to instill a cozy sensibility that’s characteristic of the locale. Guestrooms were upgraded with new spindle beds, as well as modern textiles, furniture, and wallpaper.
Additionally, a new F&B option, Little Barn (pictured above), has debuted as part of the revamp. The restaurant is located within a repurposed barn and features a lively yet casually elegant aesthetic. Dreamscape-style paintings, which reinterpret Maine’s misty and mysterious landscapes through the lens of 19th-century Barbizon painters, by local artist Dean Barger also punctuate the modern farmhouse’s interior.
