Martinhal Family Hotels & Resorts will debut two new hotels in 2016—the Martinhal Cascais Family Hotel, in the Cascais area of Lisbon, will open this month; and the Martinhal Chiado Family Suites, in the center of Lisbon, will open in late spring. Filipe Bonito of London-based JLTP Architects, and interior designer Dagny Bain of New York-based db Interiors, designed both properties.
Located between two championship golf courses, the Martinhal Cascais Family Hotel features 68 guestrooms and four suites, as well as 12 exclusive villas. Guestrooms include a private balcony or terrace, and offer Lollypop bunk beds to accommodate children. Each villa comprises two bedrooms, a full kitchen, living room, dining area, and access to a private terrace.
The hotel includes three dining venues—O Terraço, a Portuguese restaurant led by executive chef Alexandre Cláudio; Os Gambozinos, an Italian trattoria; and M-Bar, where guests may enjoy coffee, snacks, and pastries. Other amenities include the Finisterra Spa and three pools, as well as 7,700 square feet of play space for children.Â
Martinhal Chiado Family Suites features 37 apartments designed to accommodate children. Ranging from studio to two-bedroom units, each features a full kitchen and washer-dryer. The hotel also features a kids club, as well as a pajama party service, which will offer childcare services until midnight every evening.
The two new hotels join Martinhal Family Hotels & Resorts’ existing properties—Martinhal Sagres Beach Family Resort on Portugal’s Algarve coast, and the Martinhal Quinta Family Golf Resort in the Quinta do Lago area.Â
