Genting Group has unveiled plans for Resorts World Miami, a $3 billion mixed-use development on 14 acres of the city’s waterfront. Arquitectonica is responsible for the master plan of the project, which will include 5,200 guestrooms across four hotels, 50 F&B venues, a luxury retail galleria, convention center, and casino. The firm’s design calls for a futuristic-style complex inspired by a coral reef with very few straight lines. A lagoon and sand beach would sit atop the buildings.
“It’s very different from anything we’ve done before,” architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia tells the Miami Herald. “In fact, it’s very different from anything else in Miami. It’s very soft and organic.”
