Opening in September, 45 Park Lane is slated to be London’s newest luxury hotel, designed by Thierry W. Despont and home to CUT, Wolfgang Puck‘s first European restaurant. Despont has transformed the building’s exterior with metal fins across the full width of seven of the nine floors to emphasize the structure’s curve. An external wall sculpture, also by Despont, of bronze composite panels will reflect both sunlight and embedded lighting across the height of the residential floors.
The interiors will contrast the geometry and light throughout the structure. The palette will include a rich mix of white, brick red, camel, and aquamarine with earth-toned accents. Bedrooms will boast the latest guest-centric hotel technology, walls in cerused mahogany, and soft suede, as well as adjoining bathrooms lined with Ambarino marble. Meanwhile, Bar 45 features a black granite bar, backlit amber glass front, a library, and private media room.
