The Academy of Art University School of Interior Architecture & Design has bestowed an honorary doctorate degree on New York-based designer Clodagh. The award was given to the celebrated designer by AAU president Dr. Elisa Stephens at a special presentation for the university’s students.

“As I had no formal education in design, this honorary doctorate means the world to me,” says Clodagh.
In presenting the degree, Stephens cited Clodagh’s consistent commitment to design excellence through her work and her industry leadership and philanthropy. Due to her commitments to emerging design talent, Clodagh has worked to promote education in the developing world through ClodaghCares.org. The Thorntree Project in Kenya is one of the projects to which she lends hands-on support.
Clodagh is a member of Hospitality Design magazine’s Platinum Circle and is on the AD 100⎯⎯Architectural Digest’s list of the top world’s top architects and interior designers⎯⎯and the Robb Report’s Top 40 list of leading designers. Clodagh’s work includes hospitality, corporate, and residential commissions and collections of furniture, which are represented in New York by Dennis Miller and include textiles, rugs and carpeting, lighting, and packaging.
