Accor‘s board of directors has unanimously voted to terminate CEO Denis Hennequin. Meeting at Hennequin’s request, the directors agreed that the group’s adopted strategy is correct and that it will remain unchanged. However, given current economic conditions and the rapid transformation of its competitive environment, the board decided to accelerate Accor’s strategy in order to reinforce its positions. The board therefore moved to focus energy and resources on transforming Accor’s business model.
A transition executive team has been installed. Philippe Citerne⎯⎯previously vice-chairman of Accor’s board⎯⎯will serve as non-executive chairman of Accor, and Sébastien Bazin will fill the position of chairman of the board. Previous president and COO Yann Caillère is now CEO.
