The board of directors of Accor has appointed Sébastien Bazin as chairman and CEO of Accor. Philippe Citerne has been appointed as vice-chairman of Accor’s board of directors.
“We have expressed our support to this appointment during the meeting of the Board,” says Gerard Pélisson and Paul Dubrule, co-founders of Accor. “We have known Sébastien for over ten years. We are convinced that he will be able to give the fresh impetus Accor needs to continue to develop over time.”
Bazin began his career in the United States finance sector in 1985. In 1992, Bazin became CEO of Immobilière Hôtelière and specialized in high-end hotel developments. In 1997, he joined Colony Capital with the hopes of installing and developing the private investment firm. Within 15 years, he successfully established Colony Capital among the European leaders of the industry.

“I take on this new role with great ambition for the group, to which I am deeply committed, and acute awareness of the challenges it currently faces,” says Bazin. “I wish us to work all together, employees, franchisees and partners, directors and shareholders, and that we will work confidently towards a common goal: to develop the group to the very highest level with commitment and stringency.”
