The Ace Hotel Group is heading to Panama with the new American Trade Hotel in heart of Casco Viejo-the old quarter of Panama City. Opening this year, the hotel marks the group’s debut in Central America.
The hotel group collaborated with Los Angeles-based Commune Design-the team that helped create Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs-and Panama City-based Conservatorio for the design, which will feature classic lines paired with elements that speak to the history of the building.
With a 100-year-old heritage, the building boasts stately lines and graphic elements, grand old windows, and views of the old city and the Gulf of Panama. The hotel additionally will feature a jazz club curated by Panama-born jazz pianist and composer Danilo Pérez, as well as a ballroom, café, plaza-front restaurant, and pool.
