Adam D. Tihany has completed the design of Comme Ça, chef David Myers’ new restaurant, at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Tihany has taken a contemporary bent on a classic French brasserie. The bar lounge/café boasts custom details such as a French pewter bar counter that seats 15, red leather banquettes with tufted accents, amber and russet striped velvet club chairs, and espresso-stained ipe wood cocktail tables. Near the oyster bar, the restaurant’s menu is hand scripted on floor-to-ceiling chalkboard walls. A temperature-controlled wine room behind the bar stores up to 1,854 bottles, and for a bit more privacy, a communal table on the far side of the space comfortably seats 10 people.
On their way to the main dining room, guests will see a custom mosaic marble tile floor and hand-scripted chalkboard walls. The room’s classic wainscoting and wall moldings, finished in distressed oak, frame an artist-commissioned illustration on chalkboard, while 11-foot-high floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of Las Vegas below. A unique ceiling feature comprising red disks of varying sizes-some of which contain built-in lights that form a warm glow-defines the patio dining space. Additionally, a striped canopy covers the lounge and TV area, creating the feeling of an intimate cabana.
