EPR Properties plans to open Adelaar, a four-season destination resort, in Sullivan County, New York.
The new $750-million development is 90 miles from New York City and will be located on 1,700 acres of land at the site of the former Concord Resort. Empire Resorts, Inc., in partnership with EPR Properties, intends to apply for a license to own and operate the destination gaming resort that will include the 4-Star hotel. Adelaar-the Dutch word for eagle-is being master planned by New Yorkâ€â€œbased Hart Howerton.
Construction of Adelaar will commence immediately upon Empire’s receipt of its gaming resort license, which includes all zoning, master development, and environmental approvals for the property, as well as site plan, infrastructure, and permits to commence and complete the casino and resort core, indoor waterpark hotel, and renovation of the 18-hole golf course.
