New Castle Hotels & Resorts and Southwest Properties have purchased the Algonquin Resort in St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, New Brunswick, Canada. The historic Tudor-style property will close in September for more than $20 million in renovations, reopening as part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection in June 2013. The makeover calls for upgraded guestrooms, new windows, revitalized clubhouse, public spaces, and a new indoor pool with a three-story slide. Canadian design firm Moncur will oversee the project.
