Starwood’s Aloft brand is making its UK debut with the signing of Aloft London ExCeL. Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), which also owns Aloft Abu Dhabi, is developing the hotel, scheduled to open in time for the 2012 Olympic Games. Like all Aloft hotels, the London location will feature a bar in the open lobby, a grab-and go café, and industrial design elements throughout. The Rockwell Group-designed loft-like guestrooms feature the brand’s signature 10-foot-tall ceilings, oversized windows, roomy walk-in showers, and flat panel TVs.
