Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago has announced plans for a $4.2 million renovation of its 280 guestrooms and 10 luxury suites. It will be the hotel’s first refurbishment project since it opened in 2001. Guestrooms will receive new plush carpeting, decorative wallcoverings, enhanced light fixtures, luxury bedding, and 42-inch high-definition TVs. The remodeling project follows $1 million in improvements recently made to the air quality system throughout the casino’s four levels, with another $800,000 planned for the casino pavilion.
