Hyatt has opened its first Andaz hotel in New York City with the 253-key Andaz Wall Street. David Rockwell and the Rockwell Group have integrated warm saturated color, natural materials, and open spaces throughout the property’s 13 floors. A sculptural pearlescent steel and stone staircase links the Andaz Studio meeting space level to the lounge, bar, and then to the restaurant. The lounge is paneled in two-tone bamboo, while the tabletops are made of veined marble. A hand-stenciled tree design adorns the wall by the elevator bank.
Featuring loft-like ceilings and seven-foot windows, the spacious guestrooms boast dark-stained oak floors, buttery brown leather headboards and benches, and lavender and camel sitting chairs. Other modern details include textured walls, bleached wood accents, and locally crafted, stenciled metal artwork. Covered in black marble, bathrooms feature rainfall showerheads, while some have deep soaking tubs. Additionally, many rooms have a customized personal valet, a rotating closet that can open either into the bathroom or the bed chamber, that incorporates a hanging area, full-length mirror, minibar, and other storage elements.
Furnished with live-edge wooden tables and beautiful glass and iron lighting fixtures, the Wall & Water restaurant houses a chef’s table, an open kitchen, and private dining and meeting rooms. Andaz Wall Street also features Bar Seven Five, a gym, and a spa.
