Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui has opened in a new location while capturing details from its previous site. Located atop the Art Mall—which has six stories of boutiques and restaurants—the hotel features 381 guestrooms and suites outfitted with home-style touches, such as textured wallpaper, leather-effect headboards, and plush velour armchairs and ottomans. Rich tones of burgundy and gray complement contemporary black and white images of Hong Kong.
Multiple dining establishments from the former hotel have been reinvented at the new property. The lobby-level Hugo’s welcomes guests with heavy pine doors, which open up to floor-to-ceiling windows and a tall beamed ceiling. The all-day Café, also on the lobby level, features seven show kitchens and the Library, a residential-style space lined with books. Decorated in chartreuse and burnt orange, the naturally lit Chinese Restaurant offers two private dining rooms. Next door in the Chin Chin Bar, designers have re-created a backdrop of stacked Chinese cupboards and the original counter with its unique curlicue corners. In addition, more than 5,700 square feet of function space includes a pillar-less ballroom, highlighted by modern interpretations of medieval ring-framed chandeliers hanging from the 16-foot ceiling.
