Architect Leslie Armstrong has designed Scali Caffe, an Italian restaurant in the former home of New York Hot Dog and Coffee. The warm, inviting space evokes the best of modern Italian design, thanks to a large skylight and industrial fixtures accented by red quartz counters, a bar of multicolored glass panels, and patterned wall design. Meanwhile, reproductions of works by artist Curtis Ripley adorn the walls of the back room.
