Golf icon Arnold Palmer has ventured into the hospitality sector with SpringHill Suites Pittsburgh Latrobe, located in the golfer’s hometown of Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Guests get an an exclusive opportunity to play at Latrobe Country Club, a members-only golf club less than a mile from the hotel where Palmer learned to play.

The hotel serves as a showcase of Palmer memorabilia. A mural of a brilliant green golf tee with an autographed giant ball greets guest at the front desk, while the lobby is home to quotes and letters spanning Palmer’s storied career, a replica of his Masters trophy, and a glass-top table embedded with bag tags from courses and tournaments around the world. The golf theme is carried out on each floor’s elevator lobby, where floor-to-ceiling murals featuring a montage of the world’s most famous courses are on display. Palmer’s commemorative golf bag from the 1960 U.S. Open Championship and several pair of golf shoes are viewable in the bar. In addition, the board room features photos and letters from U.S. presidents reflecting Palmer’s influence in American culture over the decades.

The project is a joint venture Palmer Hospitality, L.P., Concord Hospitality Enterprises, and private investor Keith H. McGraw of Sewickley, Pennsylvania.
