21c Museum Hotel Louisville has unveiled a sculptural installation that also serves as a guestroom. New York artists Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe’s immersive art experience, called Asleep in the Cyclone, is made entirely of re-purposed barn wood. A colorful geodesic dome reminiscent of architect Buckminster Fuller’s work tops the space, which features custom textiles, original artwork, and specially curated linens.
The space features an antique writing desk, rocking chair, and record player with albums chosen by Freeman and Lowe. The artist duo also installed a custom-built cabinet of curiosities stocked with collages, books, and small sculptures.
