Artist Renee Dinauer’s bent wood sculpture, called “Random Turquoise,” is on display in the lobby of the Courtyard by Marriott in Orlando. Inspiration for the piece comes from her interest in the study of surfaces, especially those alluding to a four-dimensional topological source, or extrapolation. “My unique use of steam-bent wood as sculpture often becomes a compelling icon identifying its edifice with a lasting impression,” she says. “I custom color the lightweight sculpture in subtle naturals and intense vibrant colors.”
Dinauer’s exposure on Artspecifier.com-an internet database for artists to market their work directly to designers, architects, and consultants worldwide-led to the commission. Concept Art Services LLC served as the hotel’s art consultant, with HVS Design providing interior design services.
