Choice Hotels’ Ascend Collection of independent hotels has expanded to three new markets. The Blake Hotel New Orleans, housed in a former bank, boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, a terrace that wraps around the building, a restaurant and bar, two meeting rooms, and a fitness center. The property’s design highlight is its lobby, outfitted with cream-colored travertine floors and walls, along with a large strawberry-red faux alligator skin wall hanging and a bold red semi-circular couch.
Boston’s enVision Hotel also features a distinctive lobby, marked by sleek, comfortable couches; a champagne glass chandelier; and a three-dimensional black and white map highlighting the city’s iconic neighborhoods. Brew-ens Café, a nod to the Boston Bruins hockey team, opens this fall.
In Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Federal Pointe Inn maintains the historic charm of its 1896 brick schoolhouse location. Blending elements of Federal and Richardson Romanesque architecture, the hotel showcases 30-foot ceilings in the towers and the original 15-foot-wide hallways, adorned with original works by renowned Civil War artist Dale Gallon.
