Ascend Hotel Collection has opened its 100th hotel in Calgary, Canada. Joining seven other Canadian locations, the Hotel Elan marks the brand’s first in Calgary.
The contemporary boutique hotel boasts 62 units-including guestrooms, one-bedroom suites, and two-bedroom suites-made up with sleek Italian furnishings and pillow-top mattresses. Hotel Elan houses a fitness center, business kiosk in the lobby, and two meeting rooms for gatherings of up to 15 people.
“Ascend Hotel Collection plays a key role in our corporate strategy to expand in the upscale segment,” says Steve Joyce, president and CEO, Choice Hotels. “In many ways, the addition of our many Ascend properties is reshaping who we are at Choice. Ascend is forging new ground for us with exciting properties that are, themselves, the destination.”
Newly signed agreements call for additional expansion in such markets as New York City, the Caribbean, and international destinations.
